Badlands and Wall, SD

Well the next morning we were excited to see that it was another sunny day, perfect for checking out THE BADLANDS. So, we headed back east down the interstate to get off at the small loop road that would take us through the badlands and back to Wall, SD. It was beautiful and very different. We could see tall stacks of sand, or what looks like sand all over. It was lots of colors and there were prairie dogs and antelope and meadow larks all over the place. There weren't a lot of people, but we met a couple from Pennsylvania who were driving through as well. We stopped at several of the overlooks and watched the prairie dogs for a long time, they were so cute. After we were done going through the badlands, we headed to Wall. This little town has a very interesting history. Rather than go into detail, look it up. The short of it is that you can get free ice water and 5 cent coffee. There is a drugstore that is HUGE and sells nearly everything. We had lunch and split a milkshake and then thought we should head out as we needed to get to Bozeman, MT for the night and it was nearly 1:30pm. The drive was incredible.
